Rep. Tim Walberg, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 5th district since 2011, shared a series of tweets reflecting on significant events and engagements. These posts highlight his involvement in historical commemorations and community activities.

On June 19, 2025, Rep. Walberg marked Juneteenth by recalling the historical event when "Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas and announced to the 250,000 enslaved people that they were free by executive decree." He emphasized the importance of this day as a time to "commemorate the abolition of slavery and celebrate freedom" here.

Later that day, he expressed his honor at speaking to graduates of the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy on a momentous occasion: "the U.S. Army’s 250th Birthday." He acknowledged the program's role, administered by the National Guard, in fostering educational and vocational skills among youth and congratulated all graduates for their achievements here.

The following day, June 20, 2025, Rep. Walberg shared his experience touring Binder Park Zoo. Celebrating its "50th anniversary this year," he praised it as a "gem in our community" and thanked those involved for their efforts in promoting conservation awareness among Michiganders here.

Tim Walberg was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1951 and currently resides in Tipton. He holds a BA from Taylor University.
