Today, Congressman Tim Walberg of Michigan's 5th District cast his vote in favor of the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026. The bill aims to allocate $18 billion for military construction and family housing under the Department of Defense, alongside $452.64 billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The legislation was passed with a vote tally of 218-206.

"This critical legislation bolsters our national security and upholds our commitment to our brave servicemembers and veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country," stated Representative Walberg. He further emphasized that "the bill includes vital provisions which will fully fund veterans' benefits, veterans' health care programs, and efforts to combat veteran homelessness." Additionally, he highlighted improvements such as addressing barracks deficiencies, investing in military family housing, and enhancing facilities in the Indo-Pacific Region. "Our servicemembers and veterans deserve our full support," Walberg asserted, reaffirming his dedication to fulfilling commitments made to these groups.
