5.9% of Jackson County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Jackson County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 4,436 people out of the 160,765 living in Jackson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Jackson County has decreased compared to the 6.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Jackson County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.2%.

Of the 70,218 people who had a job during that time, 209 were employed in the Armed Forces and 70,009 belonged to the civilian labor force.
